AFCON2025Q: Nigeria vs Rwanda: Date, Time, and Where to Watch
Match Preview: Super Eagles Aim To Continue Impressive Form
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face the Amavubi of Rwanda in the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria.
The hosts come into this match on the back of two consecutive wins in the qualifiers. They defeated Sierra Leone 2-1 in Abuja and followed it up with a 1-0 win over Mauritius in Port Louis.
On the other hand, Rwanda lost their opening match against Mozambique 1-0 in Maputo but bounced back to win 2-1 at home against Benin in Kigali.
The Super Eagles have a better FIFA ranking (32nd) than Rwanda (105th) and will be looking to extend their winning streak in the qualifiers. The Nigerian side is expected to field a strong team led by Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi, Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
Rwanda will be hoping to cause an upset and put their qualification campaign back on track. They will be counting on the likes of Rayon Sports forward Danny Usengimana and APR midfielder Jacques Tuyisenge to provide the spark in attack.
