Brett Kulak calls out Carey Price over morning practices at the Bell Centre
Carey Price's future with the Montreal Canadiens is a hot topic as the team heads into the 2022-23 season.
The 35-year-old has just one year left on his contract and is coming off a season in which he played just five games due to injury. Kulak shared his opinion on Price's practice habits during an appearance on the podcast hosted by Tony Marinaro.
Kulak believes Price needs to start practicing with the team in the morning. Price has been known to skip morning practices in the past, but Kulak believes it's important for the team to have their best player on the ice as much as possible.
"I think it's important for him to be there," Kulak said. "He's our leader, he's our best player, and I think it's important for him to be there with the guys and setting the example."
Kulak's comments come as Price is facing an uncertain future with the Canadiens. The team could look to trade him this offseason, or they could try to sign him to a new contract.
Price has been the Canadiens' starting goalie for the past 14 seasons. He has won the Vezina Trophy three times and was named to the NHL's First All-Star Team five times.
However, Price has also been injury prone in recent years. He missed the entire 2020-21 season with a concussion and only played five games last season due to a knee injury.
The Canadiens are hoping Price can return to form next season and help them make a playoff run. However, it remains to be seen if Price will be able to stay healthy and if he will be willing to change his practice habits.
