Defense, depth key Warriors win over Grizzlies
Warriors win sixth straight, improve to 20-18
The Golden State Warriors used a strong defensive effort and a balanced scoring attack to defeat the Memphis Grizzlies 122-104 on Tuesday night at the Chase Center. The Warriors, who have now won six straight games, improved to 20-18 on the season, while the Grizzlies fell to 19-19.
Warriors get contributions from everyone
Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 22 points, while Klay Thompson added 20 points and Draymond Green had 18 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Andrew Wiggins scored 17 points, Kevon Looney had 11 points and 20 rebounds, and Jordan Poole came off the bench to score 11 points.
The Warriors shot 48.2% from the field and 39.4% from three-point range. They also outrebounded the Grizzlies 52-34 and had 30 assists to Memphis' 19.
Grizzlies struggle from the field
The Grizzlies, who were led by Ja Morant's 29 points, shot just 40.6% from the field and 28.6% from three-point range. They also committed 16 turnovers.
The Warriors' defense was particularly impressive in the second half, as they held the Grizzlies to just 38.5% shooting from the field and forced them into 10 turnovers.
Warriors improve to 12-5 at home
With the win, the Warriors improved to 12-5 at home this season. They will be back in action on Thursday night when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder.
