Emirates Airlines Announces Updates on Flights to Iraq and Lebanon
Iraq
Emirates Airlines has announced that it will be suspending all flights to and from Baghdad International Airport (BGW) in Iraq, effective immediately. The decision was made due to the ongoing political unrest and security concerns in the country.
The airline said that it is closely monitoring the situation and will resume flights to Baghdad as soon as it is safe to do so. In the meantime, Emirates is offering affected passengers a refund or the option to rebook their flights to an alternative destination.
Lebanon
Emirates Airlines has also announced that it will be reducing the number of flights to Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY) in Lebanon, effective October 1, 2023.
The airline said that the decision was made due to the ongoing economic crisis in Lebanon, which has led to a decline in demand for travel to the country.
Emirates will now operate one daily flight to Beirut, down from the previous two daily flights. The airline said that it will continue to monitor the situation in Lebanon and will adjust its flight schedule accordingly.
