Franz Ferdinand have announced their sixth studio album, 'The Human Flaw', set to be released on January 27, 2023, via Domino. Along with the announcement, the band has shared a new single titled 'Night or Day'.
The new album is the follow-up to 2018's 'Always Ascending', and was recorded in RAK Studios in London with producer Dan Carey. 'The Human Flaw' is described as 'Franz Ferdinand at their most Franz Ferdinand-y', with the band exploring their signature sound of angular guitars, dance-punk rhythms, and witty lyrics.
The first single from the album, 'Night or Day', is a driving, energetic track that showcases the band's strengths. The song is built around a catchy guitar riff and a hypnotic bassline, with Alex Kapranos' vocals soaring over the top. The lyrics are typically witty and observational, with Kapranos musing on the nature of human relationships.
Franz Ferdinand are set to embark on a UK tour in support of the new album, with dates in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, and London. Tickets for the tour go on sale on Friday, October 21.
