Germany Boss Nagelsmann to Make Big Changes for Hungary Clash
Assistant Coach Danny Rohl Confirms Plans for Overhaul
Key Players Set to be Rested as Nagelsmann Prioritizes Depth
Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann is set to make significant changes to his starting lineup for their upcoming Nations League clash against Hungary. Assistant coach Danny Rohl confirmed the plans on Monday, stating that the move is aimed at giving fringe players a chance to impress and manage the workload of key individuals.
Nagelsmann is expected to rest several regulars, including captain Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, and Leon Goretzka, who have all played heavy minutes in recent weeks. In their place, the likes of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Nico Schlotterbeck, and Jamal Musiala are likely to get the nod.
The decision to rotate the squad highlights Nagelsmann's focus on building depth within the team. With the World Cup just months away, the German boss is keen to give as many players as possible an opportunity to stake their claim for a place in the final squad.
Despite the changes, Nagelsmann is confident that his team can maintain their high level of performance. "We have a lot of quality in the squad, and I'm sure that the players who come in will be able to show what they can do," he said.
Germany will face Hungary in Leipzig on Friday, September 23, in their penultimate Nations League match. They will wrap up their campaign with a game against England at Wembley on September 26.
