GGD Groningen has a new manager: Hanneke Schrijver

GGD Groningen has appointed Hanneke Schrijver as the new manager. As of July 1, she will succeed Wianko Kingma, who will take on a new role within the organization.

Schrijver has more than 20 years of experience in the field of healthcare management. Her most recent position was at Treant Zorggroep, where she was responsible for the development of the organization's strategic childcare agenda. She also worked at the UMCG, among other organizations.

Schrijver is looking forward to her new role at GGD Groningen. "I want to work with the organization to improve the health of the population of Groningen. We can achieve this by working together with residents, other healthcare organizations and municipalities."

Schrijver is particularly interested in the link between healthcare and social domain. "Optimal health is not just about medical care, but also about, for example, safe housing, social contacts and healthy living environment. By working together, we can make real progress in improving the health of Groningen residents."

GGD Groningen is responsible for public health in the city of Groningen and the surrounding municipalities. The organization focuses on prevention and health promotion. GGD Groningen also provides health care, such as vaccinations and youth health care.
