'I'm A Celebrity's Tulisa opens up on 'year from hell' after drug scandal
Reality TV star Tulisa Contostavlos has revealed the "pain" she has experienced since getting caught up in the drugs scandal that saw her jailed.
Contostavlos was handed a two-year suspended sentence in July 2014 after being found guilty of supplying cocaine.
Speaking about the incident for the first time, she told The Sun on Sunday: "I've been through the mill. But I'm still here."
"The last three years have been the most difficult of my life. I've lived and learned a lot in that time, and I'm hoping to give something back now."
Contostavlos, 29, was found guilty after a court heard she had set up a cocaine deal for an undercover reporter posing as a film producer.
She was stripped of her role as a judge on The X Factor and her music career was put on hold.
The singer, who now lives with her mother in Barnet, north London, says she is determined to put the past behind her.
"I'm not a victim. I made a mistake and I paid the price. But I'm not going to let it define me," she said.
"I want to show people that you can make a mistake and still come back from it. I'm not going to let what happened hold me back any more."
Contostavlos is set to appear on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! later this year.
She said: "I'm really excited to be doing the show. It's going to be a challenge, but I'm up for it."
"I think it will be a good opportunity to show people the real me. I'm not the person that people think I am."
