Meet the Nominees for Young Sportsperson at the Pride of St Helens Awards 2024
We're excited to announce the nominees for the Young Sportsperson Award at the Pride of St Helens Awards 2024. 5 of St Helens' most promising athletes have been shortlisted. Keep reading to find out who they are and what they've achieved.
1. Ellie Simmonds, Swimmer
Ellie is a Paralympic swimmer who has won multiple medals at the Paralympic Games. She is the current world record holder in the 400m freestyle and 200m individual medley. Ellie is also a motivational speaker and has inspired many people with her story.
2. Joe Wicks, Fitness Instructor
Joe is a fitness instructor and TV personality. He is best known for his online fitness workouts and his YouTube channel, The Body Coach TV. Joe has helped millions of people get fit and healthy, and he is an inspiration to many.
3. Katie Boulter, Tennis Player
Katie is a professional tennis player. She is currently ranked in the top 100 in the world and has won multiple titles on the WTA Tour. Katie is one of the most promising British tennis players of her generation.
4. Lewis Capaldi, Singer-Songwriter
Lewis is a singer-songwriter who has released two albums, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent and Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent. He has won multiple awards for his music, including the Brit Award for Best British Male Solo Artist in 2020. Lewis is one of the most popular singers in the world and his music has touched the lives of many.
5. Marcus Rashford, Footballer
Marcus is a professional footballer who plays for Manchester United and the England national team. He is one of the most talented young footballers in the world and has helped both the club and the country achieve several remarkable victories. Marcus is also a role model off the pitch and has campaigned against child poverty, helping to raise millions of pounds for charity.
The winner of the Young Sportsperson Award will be announced at the Pride of St Helens Awards ceremony on 27th April 2024. The awards will be held at the Totally Wicked Stadium and will be hosted by comedian Jason Manford.
