Metal fragment falls from AT&T Stadium roof during Monday Night Football game

Incident occurs prior to Texans-Cowboys kickoff

ARLINGTON, Texas -- A metal fragment fell from the roof of AT&T Stadium and landed on the field during the pregame warmups before the Dallas Cowboys' Monday Night Football game against the Houston Texans.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. CT, about 30 minutes before kickoff. The game was delayed for about 15 minutes while stadium personnel cleaned up the debris.

AT&T Stadium is a domed stadium, and the metal fragment is believed to have fallen from the roof of the stadium. The stadium has been open since 2009, and this is the first known incident of a metal fragment falling from the roof.

Cowboys release statement

The Cowboys released a statement saying that they are aware of the incident and are working to determine what caused the metal fragment to fall from the roof.

"The safety of our fans is our top priority, and we are working to ensure that this does not happen again," the statement said.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
