Nigeria: Super Eagles’ likely XI vs Rwanda: Lookman & Aina out; Osimhen a doubt; Boniface in
Nigeria Super Eagles will look to maintain their lead in Group A and qualify for the round of 16 when they take on Rwanda on Tuesday.
Coach Jose Peseiro has hinted that he will make changes to the team that defeated Burundi 1-0 in their opening match.
Striker Ademola Lookman, who scored the only goal against Burundi, is suspended due to yellow card accumulation.
Boniface expected to start
In-form Lorient forward Terem Moffi is expected to start up front in Lookman's absence.
Moffi has scored four goals in his last five matches for Lorient and will be looking to add to his tally against Rwanda.
Another player who could be handed a starting role is Union Saint-Gilloise forward Victor Boniface.
Boniface has been in impressive form for his club this season, scoring three goals in four matches.
Osimhen a doubt
Nigeria's all-time top scorer Victor Osimhen is a doubt for the match due to a knock he picked up in training.
If Osimhen is ruled out, Moffi is likely to start up front alongside Boniface.
Meanwhile, Torino defender Ola Aina is also out of the match due to suspension.
Aina was sent off in the second half of the match against Burundi.
