Northumberland Hills Hospital brightening the holiday season with donated artificial Christmas tree
Generosity on Display
An artificial Christmas tree has found a new home at the Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) in Northumberland County. A generous donation from the Cobourg Lions Club illuminated the hospital's entrance with holiday spirit.
Community Connections
This donation came to fruition through a partnership with the NHH Foundation, an organization dedicated to raising funds for the hospital. During the November 17 Foundation board meeting, the Lions Club expressed a desire to donate a tree to the hospital. The NHH Foundation was thrilled to facilitate this heartwarming gesture.
"We are so grateful to the Cobourg Lions Club for their generous donation," said Rhonda Cunningham, NHH Foundation Executive Director. "This beautiful tree will bring joy to our patients, staff, and visitors during the holiday season."
Holiday Cheer
The task of selecting just the right tree was taken on by Foundation Board members Dave Lewis, Ken McKinnon, and Lion Dave Scott. After a thorough search, they came across the perfect artificial spruce at Home Depot.
The 10-foot tree is decorated with a variety of ornaments featuring a festive mix of traditional and whimsical designs. The tree's warm glow will create a welcoming ambiance for all who enter the hospital during the holiday season.
"We are delighted to be able to provide this tree to the hospital," said Lion President Bruce Till. "We hope that it will bring some holiday cheer to everyone who sees it."
Appreciation for Healthcare Workers
The NHH Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Cobourg Lions Club for their ongoing support of the hospital, especially during this season of giving. The Foundation's mission is to enhance the quality of healthcare in Northumberland County, and donations like this one from the Lions Club are essential to making that possible.
Through the generosity of its donors, the NHH Foundation provides much-needed medical equipment, professional development opportunities for staff, and patient comfort initiatives. The support of the community is vital to ensuring that the NHH can continue to provide exceptional healthcare close to home.
