Pierre Houde honoured at the Bell Centre for his induction into the Hall of Fame
Former Canadiens public relations director Pierre Houde was honoured at the Bell Centre before the game against the Florida Panthers on Saturday night.
Houde, who spent 30 years with the Canadiens, was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in the builders category earlier this month.
Houde was presented with a framed jersey and a silver stick by Canadiens owner Geoff Molson and general manager Kent Hughes.
He was also given a standing ovation by the crowd at the Bell Centre.
Houde was a key figure in the Canadiens' public relations department for many years, and he played a major role in the team's success off the ice.
He was responsible for media relations, community relations, and special events.
Houde was also a member of the Canadiens' management team for many years, and he helped to build the team into one of the most successful in the NHL.
He was a key figure in the Canadiens' Stanley Cup victories in 1973, 1976, 1977, and 1978.
Houde is a highly respected figure in the hockey world, and his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame is a well-deserved honour.
He is a true gentleman and a great ambassador for the game of hockey.
