Portugal qualify for Nations League finals as Ronaldo makes his 190th appearance

Portugal and Croatia will meet in the Nations League finals after both nations won their respective semi-finals on Wednesday evening

Portugal beat Switzerland 3-1 in Geneva, while Croatia overcame Denmark 2-1 after extra-time in Copenhagen.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice for Portugal, with Joao Cancelo also on target, while Switzerland's goal came from Ricardo Rodriguez.

Croatia's goals came from Andrej Kramaric and Lovro Majer, with Denmark's goal coming from Christian Eriksen.

The Nations League finals will be held in Portugal in June 2023, with the four semi-finalists being joined by Spain and Italy, who won their groups in League A.

Ronaldo reaches 190 caps for Portugal

Ronaldo's appearance against Switzerland was his 190th for Portugal, making him the most-capped European player of all time.

The 37-year-old is now just 11 caps behind the world record holder, Bader Al-Mutawa of Kuwait.

Ronaldo is also Portugal's all-time top scorer, with 118 goals in his international career.

Roberto Martínez linked with Belgium job

Former Belgium manager Roberto Martínez has been linked with the vacant Belgium job following the country's disappointing World Cup campaign.

Martínez left his role as Belgium manager after the World Cup, and he is now being linked with a return to the Premier League, with Aston Villa and Wolves both reportedly interested in appointing him.

However, it is now being reported that Martínez is the favorite to take over as Belgium manager, and he could be appointed as early as next week.
