UEFA Nations League: Spain, Denmark, Serbia join Switzerland in Finals
Spain, Denmark, and Serbia booked their places in the UEFA Nations League Finals on Saturday
Spain secured top spot in Group 2 of League A with a 1-0 win over Portugal in Braga, while Denmark and Serbia claimed the other two qualification berths from Groups 1 and 4 respectively.
Alvaro Morata scored the only goal of the game in the 88th minute to give Spain a hard-fought victory over their Iberian rivals. The result means Spain will join Croatia, Italy, and the Netherlands in the Finals, which will be held in June 2023.
Denmark also secured their place in the Finals with a 2-0 win over France in Copenhagen. Goals from Kasper Dolberg and Andreas Skov Olsen sealed the victory for the Danes, who finished top of Group 1 ahead of the world champions.
Serbia completed the list of qualifiers with a 2-0 win over Norway in Belgrade. Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dusan Vlahovic scored the goals for the Serbians, who finished top of Group 4 ahead of Norway and Slovenia.
The UEFA Nations League Finals will be held in the Netherlands from June 14-18, 2023. The four teams that have qualified for the Finals will be joined by the winners of the play-offs, which will be held in March 2023.
