Warriors Say Waters ‘Good to Go,’ but Curry Questionable for Monday Game
Warriors Optimistic About Waters' Status
According to the Warriors, Gary Payton II is probable to return to action on Monday night against the Los Angeles Clippers. Payton has been sidelined since Jan. 14 with a right calf strain. His return will provide a much-needed boost to the Warriors' defense.Payton is averaging 7.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game this season. He is expected to start alongside Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Kevon Looney in Monday's game.
Curry's Status Uncertain
The Warriors are less optimistic about Curry's status for Monday's game. Curry is dealing with a left knee contusion that he suffered in Friday night's loss to the Phoenix Suns. He is listed as questionable to play against the Clippers.
If Curry is unable to play, Jordan Poole will start in his place. Poole has been averaging 18.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game this season.
Warriors Hoping for Curry's Return Soon
The Warriors are hoping that Curry will be able to return to action as soon as possible. He is the team's leading scorer and is essential to their success. The Warriors are currently 29-29 this season and are in sixth place in the Western Conference.
The Warriors' next game is on Monday, February 13th at 7:00 p.m. PST against the Los Angeles Clippers. The game will be played at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
