Contenders Analysis
Anne Michaels, the acclaimed author of Fugitive Pieces, has been nominated for the 2023 Scotiabank Giller Prize for her latest novel, All We Saw. The book is a meditation on loss, memory, and the search for meaning in the aftermath of trauma.
Madeleine Thien, the author of the 2016 Giller Prize-winning novel Do Not Say We Have Nothing has been nominated for The Administration of Small Things. The book is a multi-generational saga that explores the lives of Chinese immigrants in Canada.
The winner of this year's award will be announced on November 7, 2023. The winner will receive $100,000, and each of the other nominees will receive $10,000.
