Columbus Blue Jackets shut out Boston Bruins at home
Capitals, Rangers also win; Sabres lose again
The Columbus Blue Jackets extended their winning streak to three games with a 4-0 victory over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night at Nationwide Arena.
Oliver Bjorkstrand scored twice for the Blue Jackets, who improved to 10-4-0 on the season. Joonas Korpisalo made 25 saves for the shutout.
The Bruins have lost two straight games and are now 7-5-1 on the season.
In other NHL action on Tuesday night, the Washington Capitals defeated the New York Islanders 3-2, the New York Rangers beat the New Jersey Devils 4-3, and the Buffalo Sabres lost to the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-2.
Capitals win third straight
The Capitals won their third straight game with a 3-2 victory over the Islanders at Capital One Arena. Alex Ovechkin scored his 10th goal of the season for the Capitals, who improved to 8-3-2 on the season.
The Islanders have lost two straight games and are now 5-6-1 on the season.
Rangers win fourth straight
The Rangers won their fourth straight game with a 4-3 victory over the Devils at Madison Square Garden. Mika Zibanejad scored two goals for the Rangers, who improved to 6-4-1 on the season.
The Devils have lost two straight games and are now 3-6-2 on the season.
Sabres lose ninth straight
The Sabres lost their ninth straight game with a 5-2 defeat to the Maple Leafs at KeyBank Center. Tage Thompson scored both goals for the Sabres, who are now 1-9-0 on the season.
The Maple Leafs have won two straight games and are now 8-4-0 on the season.
