SC Heerenveen downs VVK Telstar 3-0, strengthens grip on Eredivisie title race
Tarvajärvi's hat-trick seals victory
SC Heerenveen maintained their momentum in the Eredivisie Vrouwen title chase, cruising to a comfortable 3-0 victory over VVK Telstar on Sunday.
Finnish striker Niklas Tarvajärvi was the star of the show, netting a superb hat-trick to hand Heerenveen all three points and extend their lead atop the standings.
Tarvajärvi opened the scoring in the 25th minute, expertly heading home a cross from the right flank to give his side an early advantage.
The second half was a similar story, with Tarvajärvi finding the net again just minutes after the restart. This time, he latched onto a through ball, rounded the goalkeeper, and calmly slotted home.
Telstar pushed for a way back into the game but were unable to penetrate Heerenveen's resolute defense. Tarvajärvi sealed the victory in the 80th minute with a well-taken free kick, completing his impressive hat-trick.
Heerenveen's victory strengthens their grip on the Eredivisie title, moving them five points clear of second-placed PSV Eindhoven. Telstar, meanwhile, remains in the bottom half of the table, struggling to find consistent form.
